Cool Cats - Siberian Tigers

Cool Cats - Siberian Tigers

Siberian Tigers

by

Your Name

Siberian tigers live in the far north, where the temperatures fall to minus 50º F. Beneath their golden and black coats, they have thick layers of fat for insulation.

Though the male tigers are loners, the females live in family units. They nurse their cubs in secluded dens. After two weeks the cubs open their eyes, and their teeth begin growing. Within three months they begin exploring outdoors.

While still nursing them, the females bring them meat to eat. When they are five to six months old, the cubs begin to accompany their mothers on hunting trips. Before they are one year old they start to hunt for themselves.

Siberian tigers prefer to eat wild pigs and deer, but they catch smaller game, too. They must search for prey persistently, for only a tenth of their hunting trips prove successful. When they capture a large animal they eat what they can, then drag the rest to a hiding place to finish later. When game is scarce, they often range hundreds of miles to find food. Their determination keeps them going.

Are you determined enough to work hard for what is good, pure, and worthwhile?  Or, do you shrug your shoulders and quit?  Wise King Solomon 1 asked, “Did you fail in a day of adversity?”2     If your goals are  just, worthwhile and pure, don’t give up!  In the book of Galatians you find this wonderful advice,  “Let us not grow tired of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up.”3   Like the Siberian tiger on its hunt, try until you succeed.
